Off Main Street, Clifton Campville, Thorpe Constantine, Lichfield, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of this Survivor. Located opposite a small garage block is a 15 ft (5 m) Stanton 10 concrete column, with a K-type short outreach bracket and GEC Z8896 lantern, for an 80 - 125 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamp. The installation is likely to be in private (Parish Council) ownership, given that an MBF lantern is still operational in 2026. Maintenance on the lantern must be tricky, considering the narrowness of the access road that leads to it.

The combination of a minimal outreach bracket and Group 'B' MBF lantern creates something of a classic appearance.

Although a gap is present between the column and bracket, the joint must be suitably sealed, as no signs of spalling occurring are present.

When the lantern is seen from the other side, a Zodion SS55 two-part photocell detector is visible on the canopy.

A sneaky peek into the base reveals the 'other' end of the photocell - the relay having been manufactured in January 2019. The BILL cut-out below it looks to be insecure on the column's backboard. The GEC Z1640P ballast carries a date stamp of 1986, but a handwritten installation date of the 24th October 1988 - I'd have been a few months old at the time!
