Off Belvoir, Dosthill, Tamworth, Staffordshire With thanks to LeoLampposts for informing me of these Survivors. Situated on a footpath leading to Dosthill Park, alongside the River Tame, are two Abacus 1980s' 5 m base-hinged tubular steel columns supporting GEC Z5676 post-top lanterns, designed for running 35 - 55 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamps. The two installations appear to have become abandoned, with the second one on the path having lost its canopy at some point previously.

The footpath is particularly tree-lined, though only this portion was ever intended to be lit - after this second column, the lighting ceases. Perhaps, this is why the lighting became abandoned - inviting people to use a footpath after nightfall, which then leads into darkness, is not the best option.

The canopy must have been missing for a while, as a large amount of tree debris has gathered inside the bowl.

The second column is more heavily surrounded by trees, though the lantern is intact here.

Curiously, the bowl appears more discoloured on this example.
