27. The Pavilion Gardens, Off Burlington Road, Buxton Installed on the walkway that passes between the Gardens and the elegant stone buildings of St John's Road are some seemingly rather elderly cast iron columns, similar to the single example seen in Derby City Centre. These columns have very decorative bases, with the Derbyshire 'Buck in the Park' emblem cast into the inspection doors, and Latin words encircling it. Modern teardrop lanterns are now installed, however on the main road, Thorn Alpha 8s are installed on brackets that look as if they could at one time have been used as tram/trolleybus support pylons. Certainly, I can remember this being the case at Crich Tramway Village, but I don't think a lantern is used.
