93b. Model Village Area, Bolsover. Lighting many of the roads around the "New Bolsover" area are a number of Simplex Solumbra 35 Watt SOX post-top lanterns; all fitted to 15 ft tubular steel columns. The columns are likely to be older than the lanterns are, as these are today in generally rather poor condition. Where the Solumbra lanterns have, themselves, required replacement, lanterns ranging from the Thorn Gamma 6 to WRTL's Arc and Delta have been fitted, depending on when the replacement occurred, and what was "on the shelf" at the time.

These two consecutive Solumbras can be seen on Villas Road.

The foreground lantern is controlled using a Zodion SS6 one-part photocell. As can be seen, it carries a 55 Lux rating.

The background lantern is similarly switched in this way.

Sadly, all of these lanterns are now confined to history, following column replacements in early 2019 as part of Derbyshire's LED conversion work.
