Simplex Aries and GEC Z9532 lanterns, both running 35 Watt SOX, were removed here. These photographs were taken on Thursday, 8th April 2010.
The next Aries along was fitted with a Royce Thompson SC1000 cell - the type more commonly seen fitted to the new lanterns:
The Royce Thompson Monostar 1000 cell fitted to the Aries located opposite Freesia Close had developed a fault towards the end of the lantern's life that caused it to activate the lamp well after dusk every evening:
I had previously photographed this Aries when it was dayburning. Fortunately, this fault had not recurred since the faulty cell was replaced:
The lantern pictured above is seen on the left of this picture. Wenlock Close is on the right.
Around the bend, the first of two Z9532s was installed.
The second Z9532 was still fitted with a 1990s' Sirebeck S300 cell.
