The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 24th October 2010 and Sunday, 7th November 2010; GEC Z9532s made up the majority of the outgoing lanterns along this road:
Unusually for Derby, hockey stick columns (made by British Steel) were employed for the first three outgoing roadway installations:
A PFI-specification Royce Thompson SC1000 photocell had been fitted to the first Z9532; probably during a routine maintenance session.
A GEC Z5698U post-top lantern was installed in the first cul-de-sac just off the main thoroughfare. After around thirty years' service, the paint finish to the lantern's canopy and base was beginning to wear away.
Lanterns were still to be fitted to the new columns at the time of photographing.
The Z9532's bowl looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for some time:
The new columns are installed in similar positions to those of their outgoing equivalents:
The GRP canopy of this Z9532 looked particularly weathered:
The following outgoing column saw a return to columns fitted with separate brackets. The right-hand photograph suggests that the lantern was slightly misaligned on said bracket.
A Thorn Gamma 6 fitted to an unpainted mid-hinged column was installed on the footpath leading to Farncombe Lane. A lantern had already been installed on the replacement column here.
This close-up photograph of the new lantern's photocell shows that the light is set to activate at 35 Lux, and deactivate at 18 Lux the following morning:
The new column in the foreground of this next picture was again positioned alongside an outgoing column; however, the following new installation (just visible in the background) was installed opposite the old column, due to the latter being situated near a tree.
Another Gamma 6 existed on the footpath leading to Vestry Road.
