Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract - Goodsmoor Road, Sinfin

The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 19th September 2015.

As the above records suggest, the majority of the lanterns along this road run 55 Watt SOX lamps. All columns running this wattage are 6 m in height. A 1990s' Philips MI 36 can be seen below.

The front bowl clip is missing from this lantern, although the rear clip is strong enough to support the bowl.

The next few columns were of a different design and were fitted with Thorn Beta 2 lanterns.

This particular type is of the style that was first produced in the 1990s.

The below examples are the earlier 1980s' design. Both are fitted with Royce Thompson SC1000 70 Lux photocells.

The bowl was missing from another example.

The other examples still retained their bowls.

An early 1990s' Zodion (Fisher Karpark) SS5 photocell was fitted here.

After traversing the sharp bend in the road, the column heights reduce to 5 m and are fitted with Thorn Beta 5 35 Watt SOX lanterns.

This example dates from the late 1980s.

The background example is likely to be of a similar age; the only difference being that this is fitted with a deep bowl.
