The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 21st March 2010.

The first column seen after leaving Hedingham Way supports a Thorn Beta 5; this would have replaced a GEC Z9532 at some point.

This column is unusual in that it is not a direct replacement for an outgoing installation - previously, the footpath that it is installed on was not lit after nightfall.

This column with a wonky shaft supporting a column with a similarly wonky-canopied GEC Z5698U had been in this state for a number of years.

This Thorn Gamma 6 on the footpath to Ardleigh Close and Roughton Close is fitted with the photocell that group switches the other lighting on the footpath. This photocell developed a fault in 2005, meaning that all of the lanterns controlled from this column dayburned until the fault was rectified - the photograph below shows the column as it appeared during this time.

The same scene as it appeared on Sunday, 4th April 2010 (Easter Sunday). By then, the column supporting the Gamma 6 had been fully disconnected, and the incoming service and outgoing private cable network to the other lights on the footpath had both been transferred to the new column.

Joints were required on the cables in order for them to reach the new column's base. Judging by the pool of water within the hole, the joints better have been sealed correctly!

Moving back along Ingham Drive, this 35 Watt SOX Simplex Aries sporting a 1990s' Sirebeck S300 photocell could be seen. The trend for lighting residential roads when these houses were built seems to have been to install side-entry lanterns where a footway was present, and post-top lanterns on sections of road without footways.
