Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract

The equipment being removed consisted of the following items in 1997:
Seq. No. | Lamp Number | Location | Lamp Type | Watt | Isolation Point |
1 | 30208 | 1ST FROM LONDON RD | SXPL2 | 55 | |
2 | 30209 | ADJ OPP LIVERSAGE PL | SXPL2 | 55 | Y |
3 | 30210 | CNR CARRINGTON ST | SXPL3 | 55 |
The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 30th October 2010:
GEC Z9538 lanterns made up two of the three lanterns due for removal along this road.
The lantern had been fitted with a bowl from a Thorn Beta 2. Owing to the completely different methods employed for securing a Beta 2 bowl in comparison to a Z9538 bowl, two lengths of insulation tape were employed to hold the assembly together.
The following Z9538 still retained a correct bowl.
Yes, that looks much better!
The third column ended its days supporting a WRTL Arc lantern. The Arc probably replaced another Z9538.
The Arc featured a curved glass cover.
