The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 19th December 2010.
The first two outgoing columns along here supported Philips MI 26 35 Watt SOX lanterns. Both lanterns had had their bowls secured with lengths of insulation tape.
The route of the footpath was once part of the Derby Canal, which closed in 1964. The low bridge in the background of the above photograph acts a reminder as to the footpath's former use.
The white flecks that are visible on this Iridium's bowl are frost particles - evidence that the new lighting was not operational at the time of photographing.
Two Thorn Beta 5s followed. A length of wire secured this lantern's (very grimy) bowl.
A WRTL Arc lantern had been fitted to the next column.
The Arc appeared to be fitted with a 100 Watt SON-T lamp; a little excessive for a 5 m mounting height!
The final outgoing column (yes, the lighting really does end as abruptly as it appears to!) supported another MI 26, although this example was trying to disguise itself as a Beta 5 by being fitted with such a lantern's bowl!
