Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract

The existing lighting consisted of the following items in 1997.

The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 27th November 2010. Most of the outgoing lanterns along this road were GEC Z9538s.

Owing to the new lighting still awaiting a connection at the time of photographing, the snow that fell very early that morning had gathered on the Iridium; creating the appearance of additional depth to the lantern's canopy.

Two of the outgoing columns were newer, and supported Thorn Beta 2s.

The Royce Thompson Monostar 1000 photocell fitted to this lantern looked decidedly frozen!
