1967 Tube Stock Farewell Tour Gallery 1

View looking down Car 4033 during our brief visit to Northumberland Park Depot.

A stabled 1967 Stock train could be seen in the depot. The unusual water runs visible here are due to our train having just passed through the train wash.

The bemused looks from people waiting at the platforms and wondering why the doors would not open for them became a regular occurrence! At Finsbury Park, our train had to wait in the southbound platform for a short time before being cleared to transfer over to the Piccadilly line via the crossover.

The Metro-Cammell tread plates glistened in the Uxbridge sunlight.

Venturing inside the cab, the master controller is visible once again, on the left hand side. The two ATO Start buttons are positioned below the air gauge and speedometer. To the right of this is the ‘Vigilance’ button that must be depressed when the train is driven manually. The selector barrel is visible on the right of the desk - note that the paint has worn away the most around the ‘Auto’ position.

The other control desk is similarly equipped with ATO Start buttons (the two closely-spaced buttons on the horizontal plane). The red handle of the Westinghouse Brake is visible alongside the WD40 can.
