A Stock Car Diagram (2011)

New and unused, this diagram dates from July 2011 - by this time, the A Stock trains were very much in the autumn of their lives; a year later, only a handful of units still remained in service.

A legend for symbols depicting step-free access from both train to street and from platform to street is provided; however, none of the stations shown on this diagram carry the "train to street" symbol, on account of the A Stock trains not having sufficient accessibility for wheelchairs.

This overview photograph shows the different branches and service types offered by the Metropolitan line north of Finchley Road.

This diagram pre-dates the significant timetable alteration that occurred in December 2011, when all fast and semi-fast services were scrapped in favour of an "all stations" service throughout much of the day - only during the morning and evening peak periods do the faster services now operate.

One alteration that this diagram does include, however, is the change from running an off-peak shuttle between Chesham and Chalfont & Latimer stations - after December 2010, the outpost is served by a half-hourly through service. This change was achieved by reducing Amersham-bound services to twice-hourly. The shuttle service did make occasional returns when engineering works or inclement weather prevented the through service from operating.
