111GA. Pullman Close, Glascote Heath, Tamworth, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of these Survivors. Installed on this short cul-de-sac are three 15 ft (5 m) Stanton 10 concrete columns, along with a later 5 m CU Phosco tubular steel hockey stick column. One of the Stanton columns and the hockey stick both support GEC Z8896s, for 80 - 125 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamps, while one of the remaining Stanton columns supports a WRTL 2600 (a likely replacement for a defective Z8896 in the past), and the other accommodates a Simplex Solumbra post-top.
The first Z8896 is attached to a short outreach K-type bracket.
Unusually, the lantern's bowl is not discoloured, and still appears clear and transparent. A Zodion SS55 two-part photocell detector is visible on the canopy.
The lantern's effectiveness will still be compromised, however, owing to a heavy build-up of insects within the bowl.
The hockey stick is likely to be a replacement for another Stanton column.
The bowl on this Z8896 is far more discoloured, however.
The Solumbra is to be found on a footpath at the end of the cul-de-sac.
The translucent bowl here is intentional.
The underside of the wide-brimmed canopy appears rather grubby.
