113DFA. Church Street, Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Attached to a wooden pole that supports the overhead electricity (and telephone) conductors for surrounding properties is an AC Ford bracket fitted with an ELECO 'Welwyn' top-entry lantern. Even in December 2023, this 1960s' lantern continues to run an 80 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamp. Surprisingly, the bracket and lantern were re-installed after a replacement pole was installed here at some point after 2009, rather than a new bracket and lantern being installed. This suggests that the installation could belong to the local Parish Council, which may not have had the funding to install new equipment at the time.
When attached to the previous pole, the installation was positioned at a lower height.
Following the bracket's swapping over to the new pole, the lantern became twisted on the finial.
The bracket pipe is also slightly bent.
A Royce Thompson photocell bracket (fitted with a Zodion photocell) switches the installation in the modern era, though evidence of the original switching method survives too...
A Venner MSQP time switch still appears to be connected; however, the dial is missing, and the enclosure itself is installed upside-down.
The lamp control gear will be housed in the large metal box to the left of the bracket.
When attached to the older pole, the enclosure was fitted the correct way around at a different position - I am surprised that whoever was tasked with swapping the equipment over didn't do away with the redundant time switch completely.
