113DFB. Harbidges Lane, Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Attached to a wooden pole that supports the overhead electricity (and telephone) conductors for surrounding properties is an AC Ford bracket and AC850 80 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lantern. Perhaps surprisingly, AC Ford still offered the AC850, with this lamp type, right into the late 2010s, making these lanterns difficult to date; however, this example existed by 2009, and as its polycarbonate bowl was still transparent (albeit, with discolouration even then), it probably dates from the early 2000s.
The bracket's outreach is noticeably short; however, as the lane is narrow, anything longer could leave it vulnerable to being struck by high-sided vehicles.
A factory-fitted NEMA socket, seen here with a Zodion photocell, is positioned at the front of the lantern.
The enclosure below the bracket connects various telephone wires, and has no involvement with the running of the light. Notice the makeshift earth terminal that exists on the bracket's pole attachment plate.
As the lamp control gear is housed within the AC850, all that the GRP AC Ford box to the left of the bracket will contain is the fused cut-out.
