134AA. Hatch Side, Chigwell, Essex With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Installed at the top of the short cul-de-sac is a 15 ft (5 m) Concrete Utilities' 'Avenue 2D' concrete column with a crescent-shaped top-entry bracket and AEI Amber / early Thorn Beta 5 lantern, for 35 Watt SOX lamps, as well as (historically) 40 Watt SOX and 60 Watt SOI/H lamps.
Two much newer columns with LED lanterns illuminate the car parking area in the background; I assume that these supplement the Beta 5, rather than serving as a replacement for it.
Owing to the limited clearance between the bracket's original top-entry coupler and the curved back, a slight 'modification' involving two 90 degree pipe elbows was required when the lantern was installed; this being too long to fit the gap without the modification.
A Telensa radio node for controlling the lantern's switching has replaced the photocell control, which itself would have replaced the original time switch control.
The original bowl remains fitted and appears undamaged.
