134AC. Harrison Drive / Queen's Road, North Weald, Epping, Essex With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Installed on these two roads are some surviving 15 ft (5 m) Concrete Utilities' columns, with a 'Utility Major' type supporting a Thorn Beta 5 being seen on Harrison Drive, while several 'Byway-X' types supporting GEC Z9480s exist on the latter. Both lantern types run 35 Watt SOX lamps.

Although the Utility Major was designed in 1938, this example is likely to be a 1960s' version.

The concrete remains relatively smooth, and shows no signs of spalling.

Similarly, the Byway-X columns (and their Arc 4 brackets) are in remarkable condition.

The Z9480's acrylic bowl remains transparent; however, the polycarbonate bowl on another Z9480 on this road had discoloured significantly.
