193D. A458, Banwy, Foel, Powys Attached to a property that is adjacent the River Banwy is an AC Ford top-entry bracket supporting a Revo Prefect lantern. The installation probably dates from the 1960s, and may have served as part of the original street lighting system for this small village, particularly as the location is opposite a junction. As standalone street lighting columns now exist on the opposite side of the road, this installation is likely to have been forgotten, and might not be operational any longer.
The incoming supply to the house enters from an overhead conductor located on the wall to the right. I assume that a spur is then taken off the main cable to feed the street light.
Ingeniously, the bracket has been repurposed to accommodate a TV aerial.
Although the bowl is murky, a glass refractor dome remains visible within it.
