197E. Broomfield Close, Bottom o'th' Moor, Ainsworth, Bury, Greater Manchester With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Installed throughout Broomfield Close are 20 ft (6 m) Concrete Utilities' Midway X columns, with two of these fitted with lanterns that, ordinarily, would be seen at an 8 m mounting height, and running a 90 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamp instead. The first is a CU Phosco (Phosware) P157; the second is a Davis GR 100 (with ELECO-style bowl) - both of which are converted to take an LED retro-fit lamp now, although they probably ran 55 Watt SOX lamps previously.

The P157 seems especially bulky at this mounting height.

The Perspex bowl has become slightly translucent through UV exposure over the years.

Two 'Oddie' keys are employed to secure the bowl under normal circumstances. The front one is not engaged properly, causing the bowl to hang open slightly, and dirt / moisture to gather inside the lantern.

The GR 100 was operating in daylight at the time of photographing.

The LED lamp is the same size as a 35 Watt SOX lamp; thus, it looks rather lost in a lantern designed for running a much larger lamp.

As the lamp is too short to reach the internal lamp support, a makeshift solution using cable ties is installed. Notice that the bowl is missing part of the refractor panel on this side, and a hole exists in the underside.
