223. Manor Road, Kingshill, Swindon, Wiltshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Situated within a depot for the local milk delivery service are two 25 ft (8 m) Concrete Utilities' Highway X columns with single arm, top-entry Highway brackets. Both columns support Mk 2 Wardle 'Atholl' lanterns, dating the installations to around 1958. The lanterns would have run 140 Watt SO/H / SOI/H (low pressure sodium) lamps originally, but in later years, would have run the newer equivalent - 90 Watt SOX lamps - instead.

The first of the two columns is positioned at the entrance to the depot.

Brackets with relatively long outreaches are supplied.

Similar to Revo's C13723 ("Dalek") lanterns, the dimply-ended Atholl bowl has become translucent with age. A few minor pellet holes exist in the plastic, but otherwise, the lantern is in superb condition.

A characteristic of these lanterns is the distinctive cylinder between the bracket and the lantern, although I am not certain of the purpose that it serves.

The underside of the bowl is a little grubby.

The second column is adjacent the depot buildings.

There is a small break in the underside of this bowl.
