Paignton Railway Station, Torbay Road, Oldway, Paignton, Devon and Torbay Spotted during 'The Summer Riviera' InterCity 125 Rail Tour in August 2026, a couple of Revo A42 'Prefect' lanterns are attached to a building at the end of one of the platforms, though not everything is as it seems - at some point, the lanterns have been modified to accommodate modern bulkheads that run 2D-style compact fluorescent lamps. Google Street View imagery reveals that the lanterns were still in original condition in 2008, but had been converted three years later.
The lanterns could well still be in operation if someone went to the bother of converting them fifteen years earlier - the presence of a NEMA photocell bracket adjacent this example adds optimism to this possibility.
Someone was very fortunate that these bulkheads were exactly the right diameter to fit comfortably inside the lanterns!
The second example is much the same as the first is, although the bowl clip on this side of the lantern has also been removed here.
