The Dana, Greenfields, Shrewsbury, Shropshire With thanks to LeoLampposts for informing me of this Survivor. Attached to a short cast iron plinth at the top of a stone staircase located between Shrewsbury's historical castle and railway station is a swan neck bracket supporting a Coughtrie PW.15 fitting - a design not, ordinarily, seen for street lighting; they are more commonly seen attached to domestic properties. Given that the swan neck is to the same design was seen with the Survivors that are off Castle Foregate, there is a possibility that the previous fitting here was another open reflector type, especially with both this and those having railway connections. Sadly, this installation has been superseded by a modern base-hinged Abacus column positioned nearby, though I can believe that maintaining this installation must have proven especially challenging, and perhaps, the supply cable to it has failed too, given that it is likely to be rather antiquated.

The installation is seen with part of the station's impressive architecture providing a backdrop.

Although the swan neck bracket has a weathered appearance, it still retains a moderate amount of paint. A possible corrosion point exists immediately above the 'flower' decoration above the spigot cap; indeed, the steelwork of the pipe does look to have additional pitting here.

The PW's bowl isn't quite secured fully, allowing dirt to gather within it.

A part code is cast into the bracket's top-entry finial section.
