The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 7th November 2010.

Many of the outgoing columns supported remotely-geared Simplex Aries 35 Watt SOX lanterns at the time of removal.

The hinges on this Aries' bowl were broken; an unsightly cable tie secured the bowl to the lantern.

The wires for the Zodion SS55 two-part photocell detector were visible inside this lantern:

One of the Aries had been replaced with an SGS 252 Iridium (the same as what will be fitted to the new columns). This change can only have occurred relatively recently (no more than two years prior to these photographs being taken, anyway), as the Aries was still fitted when the road was mapped for Google Street View.

The Cosmo-White lamp can just be seen within the Iridium's optic.

Footpath lighting consisted of GEC Z5698U post-top lanterns attached to Abacus base-hinged columns.

A Thorn Gamma 6 was fitted to one of the Abacus columns - this would have replaced a Z5698U in the 1990s.

Two more columns supporting Aries followed.

A cable tie had been wrapped around this lantern as well:

A Fabrikat mid-hinged column supporting a WRTL Arc followed. This probably replaced a bracket-mounted Thorn Beta 5 in the mid 2000s.

A final Aries brings this Chapter to a Close...
