The existing lighting consisted of the following items in 1997.

The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 27th November 2010.

A Thorn Beta 5 was first from Upper Boundary Road.

The date that the lantern was last re-lamped could be seen on the lamp's cap.

GEC Z9532s were fitted to the next three columns.

A solitary Philips MI 26 lit a nearby parking area. Given that this column was installed in a corner of the car park, I would describe the single column lighting this area as "optimistic".

Two new columns were installed for the PFI scheme; one is pictured below.

Two further MI 26s lit the rest of Franchise Street.
