The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 30th October 2010:

A Thorn Beta 2 was first from Siddals Road.

The Beta 2 was fitted with a Zodion SS3DR photocell.

Another Beta 2 followed; the column was not positioned within the hedge (as it appears to be here), but it was still a rather close call!

The next few outgoing lanterns comprised GEC Z9538s. At the time of photographing, the parking restriction signs were being transferred from the outgoing columns to the new columns; hence the presence of the Lighting Derby van on the left of this picture. (Hello Steve, if you're reading this!)

This Z9538 was positioned rather close to an overhead telecommunications cable.

The new lantern near Liversage Walk was positioned at a slightly different angle to its outgoing equivalent. The new lantern is better angled for the radius of the bend in the road.

The lighting now differs from that described in the above inventory records. This suggests that lighting alterations were made after 1997, making these outgoing columns a maximum of thirteen years old when removed.

These columns were all fitted with two lanterns - a Philips SGS 203 at the full 8 m, and a Thorn Beta 79 at about 5 m. The subsidiary lanterns provided illumination along Liversage Walk.

Despite still being relatively new, the SGS 203s all sported very weathered canopies.

The Beta 79s did not look much better. The lack of photocells on the lower lanterns suggests that they were switched from the SGS 203's photocell.

Despite the old columns being 8 m in height, the new columns here remain at 6 m, and secondary lanterns are not fitted.

Another weather-beaten SGS 203:

While the original column numbers listed above were retained for providing an inventory record for the SGS 203s, the Beta 79s were all allocated new 'DY' prefix numbers.

The SGS 203s probably ran 100 Watt SON-T lamps.

A couple of the 8 m columns did not feature the secondary lantern; the column on the left is one.
