The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 24th October 2010 and Saturday, 30th October 2010.

The lighting must have been changed along this footpath after the above records were produced, as the outgoing 5 m mid-hinged tubular steel columns all supported Thorn Beta 79 lanterns, running 70 Watt SON-T; rather than 55 Watt SOX. The Beta 79s must, therefore, have been a maximum of thirteen years old when removed, even though many looked significantly older.

A PFI-specification Royce Thompson SC1000 photocell was fitted to the first Beta 79 from Canal Street.

The replacement Iridium was also fitted with an SC1000, albeit of a type configured to activate at 35 Lux, rather than 70 Lux, as the blue-coloured cell would have been.

The second Beta 79 was in very poor condition - its bowl was broken, and the lantern had been twisted on its bracket.

The third lantern (located at the end of John Street) was installed under trees...

As a consequence, its canopy looked particularly weathered.

An Abacus base-hinged column was installed a little further up the footpath. This supported a Philips SGS 203 lantern. It is interesting to compare the appearances of the two Philips-made lanterns.
