The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 30th October 2010:
A top-entry Thorn Beta 5 was first from South Street.
The Beta 5 was fitted with a 1990s' Sirebeck S300 photocell.
Another top-entry Beta 5 existed on a driveway to several properties. I am surprised that a new column was installed here, especially as the driveway may not form part of the adopted highway.
Returning to the 'main' road now, and the rest of the outgoing lanterns comprised side-entry Beta 5s.
The stainless steel bowl clip dates this lantern to no later than 1981 - the year that Thorn went over to plastic bowl clips. A Philips SOX-PSG lamp was fitted in this lantern.
The following Beta 5 was of slightly later manufacture; the plastic bowl clip proves this.
Again, an S300 photocell was employed in switching the lantern on and off, as required.
The new lanterns are fitted with Royce Thompson SC1000 35 Lux photocells.
Two further Beta 5s completed the lighting along this road.
