97GB. Off Eastern Avenue, Lichfield, Staffordshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Situated in each of the short cul-de-sacs at this location are 15 ft (5 m) Abacus tubular steel columns, with one supporting a wide-canopied, gear-in-base Thorn Gamma 6 post-top lantern. This version is a slightly rarer variant, with the narrow-canopied, gear-in-head version being a more common example. This example is likely to run a 35 Watt SOX (or 26 Watt SOX-E) lamp. The second and third columns run ELECO HW-879s, with probably the same lamp types and wattages employed.

The columns look to have been repainted relatively recently - there are no signs of rusting visible, and the paint finish remains relatively shiny. This is the example fitted with the Gamma 6.

The Gamma 6 features a translucent white acrylic bowl.

The column design is identical for the examples topped with ELECO lanterns.

The distinctive 'bellied' bowls are a feature of this lantern type.

The second column is closer to Eastern Avenue itself.
