Located around this complex are various 90 W SOX lanterns - including three very early Alpha 1s - probably made by Atlas rather than Thorn as the lanterns utilise a threaded bolt to hold the Opticell in place rather than the later toggle catch. For some reason, the cable to each lantern is taped to the bracket and then enters near to the bolt.
This example is fitted with a 55 W lamp - being at 5 m, it may always have used this wattage.
